Mohare Danda Trek

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, a member of the MTA team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in and refreshing yourself, you can explore Thamel at your leisure. In the evening, the team leader will provide a briefing on the Mohare Danda Trek itinerary, preparing you for the journey ahead.

After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to visit some famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. You will explore places like Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Bouddhanath Stupa. If you and your guide agree, you can also visit other sites such as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Changunarayan Temple. In the evening, your trekking guide will give you a simple briefing about the Mohare Danda Trek.

Today, we drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (950m) along the scenic Prithvi Highway, a journey of about 6 hours. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning views of snowy peaks, including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the Annapurna range. The route passes through lush forests, small towns, and cultivated plains, making the drive truly picturesque.

Upon arriving in Pokhara, you will check in to your hotel and have time to explore this beautiful city. You can take a boat ride on Phewa Lake and visit the Tal Barahi Temple. If time allows, you may also try some of Pokhara’s exciting adventure activities, such as paragliding, zip flying, or even a hot air balloon ride over the city and surrounding mountains.

After breakfast, the journey begins with a drive to Galeshwor, either by public bus or private jeep. The drive along the Kali Gandaki River takes about 3 hours, offering beautiful river and mountain views.

From Galeshwor, your Mohare Danda trek officially starts. The trail winds through terraced fields, dense forests, and traditional villages. Crossing a suspension bridge over the Kali Gandaki River, you will reach Banskharka by the end of the day. Here, you will stay overnight at a community lodge or local homestay, depending on availability.

After enjoying breakfast and a warm send-off from the villagers, you begin today’s trek. The trail passes through forested areas and peaceful pastoral villages, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Leaving Suntala Kharka behind, you continue walking until you reach Nagi Village, your destination for the day. Nagi is home to the Magar community, and you can spend some leisure time visiting the local community school. Overnight accommodation will be at a community lodge or homestay.

Today, the trek begins through dense forests, gradually leading toward the charming Mohare Danda (3320m). The songs of birds in the oak and rhododendron trees add a peaceful touch to your journey. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning views of Machhapuchhre (6693m), Annapurna South (7219m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), and Nilgiri Himal (7061m).

After around 6 hours of walking along this scenic trail, you will reach the top of this beautiful hill station by evening. From here, the panoramic views of green hills and snow-capped mountains, especially during sunrise and sunset, are breathtaking. You will stay overnight at a community lodge or local homestay.

In the morning, start your day with breakfast while enjoying the breathtaking sunrise views. Before setting off, take some time to explore the village and interact with the locals to learn about their culture, lifestyle, and traditions. Then, begin your trek toward today’s destination, Khibang Village.

The trail is gentle and passes through oak and rhododendron forests as you make your way to Khibang, which takes about 6 hours. This charming village is surrounded by community forests, and you can visit local organic farms, including poultry, goat farms, and fruit orchards. Overnight accommodation will be at a community lodge or homestay.

Today’s trek is shorter and easier, making for a more relaxing day. The trail goes up and down through dense forests, and after about 4 hours of walking, you will arrive at Tikot Village. This small village is home to the Magar community and is well known for its unique culture and traditions set against a beautiful natural backdrop. Overnight stay will be at a community lodge or local homestay.

Today is the final day of the Mohare Danda Trek, combining both trekking and driving. After a hearty breakfast, the villagers bid you farewell with red tika and garlands, showing their warm hospitality. You then begin a short trek to Tiplyang Village, located on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, southwest of the Annapurna Massif.

From Tiplyang, you take a private jeep for the drive back to Pokhara. Upon arrival, you check in to your hotel and have time to explore any remaining tourist spots. Be sure to enjoy the lively Lakeside area, where you can experience the vibrant nightlife alongside visitors from around the world.

After breakfast at the hotel, you begin your return journey to Kathmandu. You can take a short 25-minute flight and enjoy stunning aerial views of the Himalayas, green hills, and plains. Alternatively, you may choose to drive, which takes about 7 hours along the same route you traveled a week ago.

Once you arrive in Kathmandu, our representative will transfer you to your hotel. During your free time, you can visit Thamel Bazaar to shop for Nepali handicrafts, clothing, and souvenirs. In the evening, join us for a farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Nepali cuisine while watching live cultural performances.

According to your flight schedule, our team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey! We hope to welcome you again next season for another adventure or trekking experience in Nepal.
